About Us

IMG_5514_edited_edited.jpg
We are an internationally based ensemble, working from Bristol, London and Fontainebleau, France. In our process we try to challenge ourselves everyday, pushing the boundaries of theatre, text, movement, as well as acting.

We focus on making immersive performances as well as more traditional end on shows. In every aspect of our performances we want to focus on truth, not wankery. Find the weight of a kiss. The cost of confessing a secret. We want to affect the audience; challenge, prick and provoke them. We bend structure, break character and snap the fourth wall.

What's next?

Sammy and Clyde are on their first date. It’s cute. It’s awkward.

It’s bad jokes, forced laughter. It’s sweaty hands, it’s ‘who’s going to pay for this pint then’. It’s ‘I really want to kiss her’ it’s ‘I hope he doesn’t try to kiss me’.

It’s excruciating.

It’s a first date.

... Right?

As Sammy and Clyde get to know each other, again, and again, and again, reality begins to fragment around them, as ‘Reality’ takes its place. Missed jokes become hilarious one-liners, awkward silences become witty repartee. The pub becomes the studio. The waiter becomes the producer. The customers become an audience. Everything becomes a camera. And Sammy and Clyde? They become disposable. In a world where dating has become increasingly defined by social media, dating apps, and love island, ‘My Type on Paper’ poses the question- what does ‘love’ mean today?
